Scientific Listening Study on the Evaluation of Speech Recordings with Cold Symptoms
Dear Study Participant,
Thank you very much for your interest in this scientific listening study as part of my Bachelor's thesis.
What is this study about?
This study investigates how certain acoustic features of speech with cold symptoms are perceived. For this purpose, you will listen to various short speech recordings and evaluate them regarding their quality, intelligibility, and the perceived naturalness of the presented symptoms.
Please take sufficient time to listen to the recordings attentively and provide your evaluations as intuitively as possible, based on your personal listening impression.
Who can participate and what are the requirements?
The prerequisite for participation is that you are at least 18 years old.
Since the study focuses on the assessment of fine acoustic features, it is highly recommended to complete the study using headphones in a quiet environment. Good or fluent English language skills are also advantageous, as they facilitate a reliable assessment of the speech recordings.
Duration of the survey
The survey consists of three short listening blocks as well as a final demographic questionnaire. Completing the survey takes a total of about 10 to 15 minutes.
